Does your agency have a cool origin story?

We started because because of Jerry Springer. It’s a great story that our co-founder can tell you. Call or meet him for a glass of Bulletproof coffee and/or wine. Or you can hear him tell it here:

See any trends, LA Natives VS Transplants?

Most of our team is from California, or grew up in southern California. Each team member has a different background and upbringing that makes up a diverse group of people. We have members of our team with backgrounds from Pakistan, Germany, Vietnam, Egypt, Italy, and more. We learn more together as a diverse group beyond a normal setting of technical skills.

Most Interesting Physical Thing in Our Office?

“Have your team’s back and BE creative (problem solvers). Have your client’s back and BE a leader. BE a risk-taker and know XTOPOLY has your back.”

– Naushad Huda, Co-Founder & Creative Director, addressing the XTOPOLY team at the beginning of the year.

LA Confidential

LA is known for entertainment (Hollywood, TV Shows, Games, etc.), how does your agency engage with the LA scene?

Our team members are very adventurous, they are always trying to find something that is engaging within the area. We all agree that food is one thing we may go out of the way for and we’re always looking to see if the hype is real.

How do you view the creative landscape in LA? How is it different from other major cities?

The LA landscape as a whole is different than other cities in many ways. Unfortunately some of the differences are a challenge, but are open opportunities. When looking at building anything substantial in digital, it takes a multitude of talents, experiences, and knowledge, it would behoove LA and OC agencies to work closer together. To recognize and focus on strengths of themselves, and see value in working with others who are focused in a complimentary craft. Gone are the days of bloated behemoth agency structures. The future of digital agencies will be fueled by highly skilled, focused subject matter experts who have an ecosystem of partners to lead clients and cause real change.

Strictly speaking about the creative landscape, and specific to digital creative, there is a movement towards truly fusing creativity and technology. One manifestation of this closeness of creativity and technology is the growing movement of having a person be skilled in both UX and UI. This is a paradigm change whose effects are bit unknown, as these two skills have been in separate bodies, but time will tell.

The #1 Thing We Love About LA:

Diversity.

Best Food Spot in LA?

Bulletproof Cafe and Sushi House.

What does #agencylife mean to you?

#Agencylife is where hard work and play merge together as one to produce something beyond the norm. You do what you love everyday without having to feel like it is a “work place.” It is where people, the work we do, and our space make up a culture to translate into #agencylife.
