Dallas is known for its bustling business industry, thriving job market, and southwest’s amazing creative and marketing scene. Home to some of the best universities and business programs in the country, Dallas is a hotbed for young professionals and creative talent.
So to get a better grasp of the Dallas creative landscape, we asked the agencies in our #DallasSpotted Activation to rank the top universities in Dallas based on the best creative talent they worked with. The results aren’t what we expected, so take a look…
Top Dallas Universities for Creative
5. University of Texas at Dallas
Coming in with three 2nd place votes and four votes in total is the University of Texas at Dallas. Part of the University of Texas System, UT Dallas was ranked 140th nationally and 71st among public universities by the U.S. News & World Report in 2016 and is recognized as a top tier national university.
4. Texas Christian University
With four 2nd place votes, two 3rd place and seven votes overall, Texas Christian University took the fourth spot in our rankings. A private university located in Fort Worth, TCU was ranked 76th nationally by U.S. News & World Report in 2016, and also home to one of the nation’s most respected business schools, the Neeley School of Business.
3. Art Institute of Dallas
The Art Institute of Dallas was voted 3rd in our Top Dallas Universities ranking with two 1st place votes and two 2nd place votes. Located at Park Lane in Dallas, the Art Institute offers degrees in design, media, video production, fashion and more.
2. Southern Methodist University
Coming in with four 1st place votes, two 2nd place votes, and 10 votes in total is Southern Methodist University. A private research university in Dallas, SMU was ranked 61th among national universities by U.S. News & World Report in 2016. The Cox School of Business is consistently ranked in publication such as Forbes and The Wall Street Journal and is recognized as a leader in business education.
1. University of North Texas
Taking the top spot in our rankings is the University of North Texas with seven 1st place votes, one 2nd place vote, and 12 votes overall. Located in Denton, a few miles north of Dallas, UNT is a public university that is known for its Arts and Sciences programs and is also the largest university in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
An agency executive at a local agency said UNT has “a wonderful journalism and communications curriculum that produces students who are ready to go to work when they graduate.” Another said that they had “great experience with a few folks and interns from UNT.”
